About the event
This event is designed to give beginner divers experience with the basics in a controlled, safe and calm water setting. We will focus on getting comfortable using a mask, snorkel, fins, duck-diving, breath hold improvement, equalization and will forage the shallows for various shellfish species that are easily harvested by hand. Divers will stay between 3ft deep and about 8 ft deep for the outing and will find abundant wild mussels, some native oysters and even delicous invasive green crabs to harvest!Â
Previous dive experience is not required (though you do need to know how to swim). You will need to bring your own dive gear or rent dive gear for this outing which is typically 50-$70/day from a local dive shop. We are happy to provide dive gear rental suggestions upon request (please email us for info/suggestions). The exact meeting/dive location will be emailed to you with confirmation of purchase.
