Friction Fire Making (Bow Drill), Davis, CA

Learn traditional fire by friction using a bow drill kit! Your instructor (Kevin) has his PhD in archaeology and specifically emphesizes the use and replication of traditional technologies for research. Therefore, as part of the process of learning this age old tradition you will also learn about the archaeological evidence for the use of various forms of fire by friction around the world. Kevin will provide all materials for this workshop and you may even take a bow drill kit home with you!
